Vietnam is affected by the monsoon, that's why the average temperature is lower than the other countries which are located in the same longitude in Asian. In comparing with these countries, the temperature in winter is colder and in summer is less hot in Vietnam. The monsoon climate also influences to the changes of the tropical humidity. In general, in Vietnam there are two seasons, a hot and rainy season (from May to October), and a cold season (from November to April the next). However the four distinct seasons are most evident in the Northern provinces (from Hai Van Pass toward to the north): Spring, summer, autumn, and Winter.
Cambodia is tropical monsoon climate. Monsoon season is from May to November. The most pleasant season is the dry season, from November/December to April. In the north, winters can be colder, while throughout most of the country temperatures remain fairly constant. There is often seasonal flooding in Phnom Penh and the rest of Cambodia in late-July and early-August; travel may be disrupted.
Laos enjoys a tropical climate with two distinct seasons: the rainy season from May to the end of September and the dry season from October to the beginning of May. The lowest temperatures can be felt during November to February. The maximum temperature in low land areas (in the west and south along Mekong River) can be as high as 38°C in April. The lowest temperature in this low land area is about 18°C in January. In the hilly regions the weather is quite fine in the driest months of March to April. Nights can be freezing in December and January at highlands.
